About
Examine the cause and consequences of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking as a significant problem through lectures, trainings, guest speakers, programs, & activities
Gain the training and skills to educated and serve as a support person to chapter members and the Sorority & Fraternity community regarding sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking.
CARE and The Office of Sorority & Fraternity Life’s Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Program is an organization of representatives from the UC Irvine Sorority & Fraternity Community who are committed to addressing the issues of rape, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking on our campus.
The VIP Program was founded on the idea that Sororities & Fraternities Life can come together in their community to educate themselves on these topics and provide support to their chapter members. Representatives from each fraternity and sorority (VIP Chairs) facilitate various awareness programs for their chapter's members and for the UCI Sorority & Fraternity Community as a whole
Clery Vs. Confidential Reporters
Clery reporters - This includes each chapters executive board and UCI workers. A clery reporter is someone who is required by their position to report any and all incidents which may violate any risk policies set in place to compile statistics for incidents of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Confidential reporters - This includes any V.I.P. chairs for any chapter, the Care office, and the ombudsman . A confidential reporter is someone who can be used as a confidential outlet to talk to about any incidents that have transpired.
